The editors of Snake Nation Press look for manuscripts that concretely render the writers actual and imaginative experiences. We publish writing that both newly interprets life in its everyday reality and that opens the readers eyes to internal landscapes that have not yet been envisioned. We believe that good writing fortifies a belief in the value of human life and effort, but above all the work must connect intuition and experience to cast a spell of surprised recognition that shocks the reader with what was thought to be familiar.
Many of the writers published by Snake Nation Press have received major literary prizes such as the Pushcart, the Juniper Award, the Hemingway Short Fiction Award, the Walt MacDonald Prize and many others. Poetry published by Snake Nation Press has been reprinted and anthologized by leading publications.
Snake Nation Press is a 501(C)3 Literary Arts organization. The Press has been publishing Snake~Nation~Review since 1989.
